Hi  

 

I have always used the red fibre washers you get in blister packs from any auto store.  Never leak on the flat face plug on my Valiants for 30 years.  Usually replace it every oil change because they are cheap.  Except my Mitsubishi that specifically requires an O ring.

For reliability reasons I wanted to stay away from the nylon as offered by Dorman. I prefer the crushable copper gasket instead.

 

I could not locate any 5/8" copper crushes, but fortunately 5/8" and 16MM are virtually the same and interchangeable.. And the 16MM is ubiquitous because they are used on Mini Coopers. Apparently more people are driving (and changing the oil in) Mini Coopers than early Chrysler hemis these days, so the gaskets are available.

This drain plug has a 9/16" head where ours is a 3/4", 13/16 " or 7/8 " head. I don't have a drain plug in front of me to see which one it is.

Who can help with a part - or info on where to get it?

 

I have a leaking gasket on my oil drain plug. Does someone know where to obtain this gasket  by part number? Or the diameter of the thread so NAPA can sell me one by size (hopefully)?
