Steve, I had Lares in Minnesota rebuild mine, no complaints. When you remove the box, make sure you make note of the position of the coupling that connects the steering wheel shaft to the box. It is not marked, and can be reinstalled in a number of positions. I had to remove my steering column several times to get it right. I made the mistake of sending the box off with the coupling still attached and when it was rebuilt, they put it back on off two teeth and that’s what caused the problem. It wasn’t really Lares’s fault, it was my mistake for not noting the position. They don’t need the coupling to rebuild the box anyway, so mark it, remove it, send off the box. Reinstall the coupling in the same position when you get it back. You may have to use some sort of centerpunch to mark the metal so it can be read after being cleaned and rebuilt. The above applies if it is in the correct position now, assuming your steering wheel being off is due to worn box parts. Being off one spline can cause the problem so take your time and get it right or you will be doing it over.
