I do have some stock left of my Rubber Rejuvenator, currently
$20 for 16 oz. bottle. I does work great as George has experienced. It will not
swell rubber seals, only soften.

Gary Nelson, a member is the Club makes and sells a rubber softener
that I have used on all my cars and trucks when restoring. I think it was about
$15 for a bottle that will do multiple Rubbers.

than 20 years ago I restored the rubber windshield and back glass on my '65
300 which had lived in California it's whole life. There were no cracks but it
was very hard, dirty, and had quite a bit of sealant stuck to it in a few
areas. I used GoJo gel hand cleaner and painted it on with a brush soon after
removal at the start of the restoration. At first I hung them inside a garbage
bag because I was afraid of breaking them. After re-coating them every so
often for a few weeks they became more pliable and I folded them up and placed
them in a large Rubbermaid container where I continued to apply GoJo for
another year or more. When I was ready for them, I scrubbed them off with a
brush and washed them up. They looked like! new (not swollen that I recall)
and fit perfectly upon re-installation. The glass guy was happy! To this day
they look and feel as they should however the car rarely sees the light of
day.
As far as the
duration I ended up soaking them for, I recall them being usable after just a
few weeks but elected to keep them soft and hopefully improve their condition
by leaving them in the tub the whole time. They were very hard and if it
weren't for some club discussion about the subject I would have been seeking
replacements.
I did buy most
of the other seals that I required from Steele Rubber Products which were all
a great fit and high quality in my opinion. ! Hope this helps.

I have used Gojo to rejuvenate factory
windshield gaskets. Do not soak it in Gojo. Instead, you apply it
to the seal and rub it in with your hands, like putting hand lotion on your
skin. Let it stay on for a few minutes, then wipe it off. Wear
nitrile gloves when doing this as it will stain your skin. Use your
fingers to get it nicely in to the glass channel. If you leave it
on too long the rubber may swell and render the seal unusable. Do not
expect this to work with a seal that has severe sun damage and is checked and
cracked, it won’t fix the cracks, but it will rejuvenate the hard rubber so
that its pliability is restored making it easier to install. Use the
original Gojo, not the stuff with pumice.
Sum years ago there was a
discussion about the rubber seals on Chrysler windshields. The consensus
was that the old rubber seal could be rejuvenated by soaking in GoJo hand
cleaner. The old rejuvenated seal would fit and work better than a new repro
seal. I am trying to do this with the seal on my G. I would like to hear from
anyone who has done this with tips on the best way to do it. The GoJo is quite
thick and does not look like it will go into the glass and body channels even
if the seal is immersed in it. Can I thin it with water? How much can I twist
it to get it into a container without leaving permanent kinks? Any
details will be appreciated.
