Re: [Chrysler300] Humm Humm on the range

Thing  is , some info on same carb is much better than self generated fairy stories filling the vacuum of no info. I learned more today from reading that Chevy article , just this AM (in truth), than any factory publication from Chrysler ,on  those carbs. There is also a small book out of Chevy "servicing the WCFB carb". 1955. Some good info there . C2 Corvette site is good too. How dual WCFB are intended to work, for instance.

They might know something about them, at GM ,as it debuted on the 52 Buick. Olds and Cad used them too. I would guess 1000 times as many carbs used there,  as were ever used in 300's. I keep forgetting how much really valuable info Bob has put up for us over the years. New Years resolution..look at club site when you have a question. If you read that Chevy article, end to end, you will know more than most Chrysler 300 WCFB experts I have encountered. Just sayin.

For instance did you know that the accelerator pump shaft has a settable cam that mechanically holds the stepped  mixture needle up at idle so that idle vacuum does not close off the power jet by sucking down the rods all the way ? ..and that setting is adjustable? I did not know that was what that cam and screw was for (!) ----till today. Or that it adjusted. Ever have a WCFB that stumbles off idle?

Perchance has anyone noticed that in the tech section of the 300 club
webbysite that item 29 Carter WCFB Description Manual PDF in the 'Fuel
System" section is great info for Chevy people, and maybe some of the
specs would be different for us Chrysler folks????

(Psst, the carbbys spec'ed in that PDF are Chebby 2x4's per my Carter
manual.)
