Observations on this article, re the Letter Cars sold at Leake in Scottsdale last Saturday-

• The prices quoted include Leake's 10% buyers' commissions, as noted by Ron Waters' comment.
  
• The body tag of the E convertible is paint code WWW - Cameo Tan. Repainted black. This is the car that gaveled for $220k.
  
• The Aztec Turquoise D that gaveled for $148k looked nice, but its interior was rather tired.
  
• The C convertible was s/n -001, with several unusual preproduction differences - hood latching, 140 mph speedo, steering wheel, seats, and more. Purchased by our Club member Mike McCandless to go with his '55 C-300 s/n -001. As Mike commented, look for his C to run in the 2020 Hot Rod Power Tour, and also be displayed at St. Paul's huge Back to the Fifties on Father's Day weekend.
  
• Contrary to the article, the '57 DeSoto Adventurer was not being sold by John Staluppi, as all his cars crossed the block at No Reserve. Staluppi actually purchased this DeSoto after bidding stalled at $280k, and he later ante'd up to $300k. Don't know about his commission arrangements.
  
• Interesting that, after all Staluppi's No Reserve cars crossed the block at Leake, very few of the cars that followed met their reserves and sold.
  

Also, saw just one Forward Look car at Barrett-Jackson - a Tango Red C-300 that hammered at $45,000. This car looked decent, but was missing its body tag.
