Hey GVL, Grace here. 👋 Last week I had the pleasure of taking a tour of the BMW Manufacturing Plant Spartanburg.
As someone who doesn’t know anything about engineering or cars, this place was like a tech-y Disneyland. So here’s a little behind the scenes of what I saw plus some fun facts about BMW Plant Spartanburg. P.S. – they offer tours to the public, so if you’re interested in checking this out for yourself, you can click the link here to sign up for a tour.
|
Some fast facts:
The plant is huge – 7 million sq. ft. (I got in close to 5,000 steps that day during the tour). So large in fact that I got lost when I first got there.
There are 11,000 jobs onsite, making BMW a major + important Upstate employer.
Plant Spartanburg produces more than 1,500 cars every day – and ~70% of that production is exported to 125 different countries.
Plant Spartanburg has produced more than 4.7 million vehicles since production first began in 1994.
Those are just a few of the big, impressive numbers.

Disclaimer – BMW has a strict no-photo policy, but made an exception for us since we’re media. Something to keep in mind if you plan on booking a tour for yourself (which we recommend).

Here’s some #FeelGood content for you. A local family wanted to teach their daughter the importance of giving. Instead of bringing presents for their daughter’s first birthday party, the family instead asked that party guests donate new stuffed animals to Clement’s Kindness Fund for the Children.
They were able to collect + donate four bags of new stuffed animals for patients of BI-LO Charities Children’s Cancer Center. |
