The Tremec seems like a logical consideration for that swap, top loader type
and small size.  I wonder if there is a Tremec bellhousing conversion for
the 413.  I can just see the shifter popping up through the ash tray cutout
like the 300F Special!

A friend was going to put a 5-speed in his 300F project but he ended up
selling it before it got that far. I believe he was going to put a Tremec in
it as they have the shifter on top of the tailshaft like the Pont-a-Mousson
transmission did. That way you can have the shifter come up through the
console. On 1962-64 300s with manual transmissions, the shifter was to the
left of the console. An odd look for sure.
