Hi all

The work around is to install

A Saginaw pump.

You can use big block mounting hardware from

A late 70s 383-440..

Even though a GM design

Far superior to Thompson.

No leaks and you also get

Rid of the floating mounting

Bracket another problem design. Have a Saginaw

Pump on my 74 Charger

Original never failed or leaked.

Our 300 Club member, Frank Troost, also has a ‘57 NYer convertible that has a Thompson p/s pump. He’s had a couple bad ones - and is asking if there’s a work-around to use a different setup than the Thompson. He’s just installed yet another rebuilt one, so we’ll see if this one holds up.
This ‘57 is an a/c car.
