I don’t live in a big city but I have access to experienced trades.--Working on this issue right now on my ’55 C69. Need to check the housing and bearings on the ball and trunion for wear. Mine went bad with poor maintenance and the boot deteriorated (worn bearings and scored bearing races). Bernbaum had the internal replacement parts but I couldn’t find anyone with the correct body. Really wanted to keep the car dead original but up against this issue, I ended up having a new conventional u joint set up fab’d for the front. $500 but reliable. Also, check the drive shaft angle on your car first with a spirit level. A fairly tight tolerance at 3 degrees (check the manual for your specs.) There are original Chrysler service videos on the issue you can find.Just about to put mine back in.MOn Dec 1, 2020, at 3:23 AM, Bob Merritt <bob@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> wrote:Forwarding this message from Math Breitbach.Replies to mfbreit@xxxxxxxxxI have vibration in my drive train & suspect the driveshaft is out of balance, so I took it to drive train shop, but they did not have proper hardware to spin balance. Would you send out a message asking the membership if they know anyone who is equipped to balance this shaft with the old type u-joints.--
