I also think this was an early built date option. I had a 60 Dodge Polara 2 dr HT with the option, last 6 digits on the car was 104xxx so early built car.
The torsion spring in the A post made opening the door something to get used to...it made the door kinda spring loaded, as the door would unlatch, it would swing open for a short distance and the spring made it harder to close too! Maybe never used on 300F
because of the center console??? Or power window wiring in A post in the way of the torsion spring?? A rare option to see today for sure...
