John,
The temperature cut out switch does not connect to expansion
valve. It has offset bracket that mounts to the top side of coil frame opposite
the exp. valve. The sensor switch sits over the coil and the probe pushes down
into fins. There should be a clip that holds probe to fin. FYI the function of
that swt. is to sense over cold expansion coil to prevent freeze-up. If too cold
swt. would open and stop clutch engagement. Problem is old capillary swt’s stop
working.

Subject: {Chrysler 300} 1957-58 A/C Question Hi
I am looking for information on how the A/C thermal switch is attached to
the expansion valve plumbing. Does anyone have one of these systems apart that
can share some pics. I have attached pics of switch and head unit.
