I would like to increase braking efficiency on my 300C without changing to disc brakes. It would be ideal if all I had to do is change my brake shoes. I know that sintered brake linings are often used in race cars for more efficient stopping power. Has anyone ever tried a higher quality more potent brake shoe lining material?
There is a video on YouTube showing a 300B racing at Infineon Raceway. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4yWMIcra40s
This 300B clearly outbrakes a lot of race cars (he also worries a lot of race cars, especially the teeny tiny open wheel cars when he pulls up behind them, they look in their rear view mirrors and all they can see is the massive gleaming 300B front bumper at about eyebrow height). The beginning of the video shows drum brakes on that car.
One thing I know for sure: he is not running (or braking) the same brake shoes that I have on my car.
