hi Lars , There is a lube fitting on the hub where cable goes—- lubed brass bush is in that hub. if you can get to it in car (and screw type ) you can add penetrating oil and or mobil 1 drops wait a day or two try to turn gently back and forth . You will need a square or hex , i have used carved wood . Or broken end? Some lube ports are sealed with press in cup , those speedo have to come out . But sadly probably does have to come out , as grease inside on odo gears gets hard ( the white grease is junk) and can bind up odometer drive gears . Forcing the inlet can strip the first nylon gear if odometer drive is locked up . That accident may free speed but no odometer . Be very careful not to grab by aluminum cup or bump it —- attached to needle if you open , — it bends off center very easily , almost impossible to get back right , speedo will jump up and down , inaccurate etc Yes common problem , and delicate stuff inside it ... car stored a long time it happens . good luck John g
-- Sent from my iPhone not by choice Hello, speedo cable was broken, because speedo is jammed. Is this a known problem with Chrysler? What would be the best guess whats causes the stuck drive in the speedo? Is there a low invasive fix? Havent found any hints in the „tech department“. Again thanks for your helping thoughts and hands 😊 Best regards Lars For archives go to http://www.forwardlook.net/300-archive/search.htm#querylang --- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Chrysler 300 Club International" group.
