In looking up the ingredients of Gojo and lanolin, I realize I may have misspoke. I used lanolin hand cleaner many years ago and may have assumed that was the key ingredient in the Gojo. 

No matter what the active ingredient(s) is in Gojo, it works like a hot damn. It's cheap compared to trying to source a poor fitting replacement, at about $20 for a tub large enough to do multiple cars if you are just brushing it on.

The Go-Jo process works pretty well for a gasket that is not split or gouged.  I soaked my 300G windshield gasket with the stuff, then placed it in a black trash bag and put it out in the sun for a week.  Soft and pliable once I washed all the goop off.  Even the windshield installer commented on it.  Dennis

I also heard that if you soak

Your old gasket with GoJo

Hand cleaner it softens it up.
