I agree with Lars, you need to make sure you have the correct belt and the pump bracket is mounted properly. Can you post a photo of the problem we can see?

meanwhile i got o kit of servopump substitute and ready for assembly. The video below , i got from Danny is a big help.

My question is: if i push the pump upwards - as described in the video- the belt touches/rubs the central fan shaft. There are also marks from former mounted belt.

I slightly remember, that this was also discussed here at a time; but do not remember the solution, how to assemble without the belt touching/rubbing the central fan shaft.

do you have a advice for this ?

https://www.rockauto.com/ has a listing for power steering pump, 1964 Chrysler 383 as well as a 1967 Chrysler and the part number is the same for both. These pumps can be tricky to adjust if you are unaware of the nature of the self tensioning bracket. Johannes from Germany writing. Hope you all are good around the world.

as i already mentioned some month ago, i have sealing problems with my servopump and got also here by you advice for this special sealing set for this pump.

now i dismounted the pump and sent to a specialist in restoring servopumps and steering gears in the north of Germany. They called me back this friday and told me, that the polydisc is disformed close to the axle and no chance to seal it.

having done internet research, i hardly find information , just found a restored pump for 1350 Euros ( !!) in Germany, writing , that this will fit to a chrysler 383 cui 1967

my questions are:

does this pump will fit to my 1964 Chrysler 300 383 cui ?
anyone an idea of other solutions / similar fitting pumps ( even not original) to avoid such a big spending for a pump ?
