Hello, everyone:
This is a first for me. This AFB was rebuilt by Jim McGowan - super job. After installing on the engine, I began recycling the engine with break-in oil, 12 times to temp. and cooling down, for 41/2 hours. I went to start the car two weeks thereafter and it wouldn't kick over. I changed the entire fuel system to the carb, reverse flushing the fuel line after the line was disconnected from the tank. No starting. I took the carb apart and found, for lack of another word, slimly goo (see photos).
The tank is new and I sealed it with tank sealer some time ago. Could this goo be the result of deteriorating sealer over time?
Any thoughts?
Best,
Ron Kurtz
