Re: {Chrysler 300} 60 F emblem

I was taking about the larger one , like the side one —maybe I mixed up two things. Sorry if not right .
Didn’t some of our cars use the large side medallion inside ? In a gear larger than an F hubcap gear ?

Even the prototypes have the gear emblem between the seats. It's just a cut off hubcap gear and emblem.

In the early days , the 300 medallions I believe reproduced within the club came as
Undrilled discs .
You had to drill yourself , a dicey procedure to put the 300 and the letter . And if drilled from back the plastic broke out in front disfiguring  the front near the pins .
Or maybe the 300 pins were drilled and you did the letter . I forget the details  .
They were made by club mainly for fixing the faded or peeling back paint  on  side medallions , as the letters or numerals often fell off , poorly attached by tiny push on tinnerman clips that rusted . You lost them . Sometimes a dab of body caulk ( dum dum) was on the back too . Avoided rattles or movement which aggravated all this .
I remember doing that drilling in 70 ‘s — I attached them all in the holes with weatherstrip adhesive too .
So many times the little F or G was gone or the 0 .
Taking it from elsewhere or parts car was common and 62 had them on trunk if I remember , curve might be wrong etc .but more common  sport had the side medallions . But no F or G
By late 80’s most 300 had this problem fixed . To the clubs  credit , they have stood up well.
But more than one might be missing letters in the back seat …
Same thing happens with grill medallion glue. Epoxy does not work it shears off. Rubber cement seems best , maybe silicone .
Hope that helps..

My guess is that someone replaced these parts along the cars 62 year journey. 300 emblem likely from a 62 300 non letter car. Someone likely couldn't or was not inclined to fish around for correct parts. Is yours an 888 code?

I recently picked up a Silver 300F #111534. It appears to be an early car with some odd differences. For instance, the medallion between the seats is from a 57 or 58 300 but has no letter designation. It appears to have been there from day one. On the back of the trunk divider it appears that a nut was on one side of the “correct” hole but not on the other. I have enclosed pics. Any thoughts on this? The third pic is of the impression left by the usual medallion in my other F.

Thanks Al
