At first I thought that was your car Mike. I watched the video and it is gratifying to see attention paid to our franchise. It’s a beauty and sounds the part. However I wish that when folks talk about our cars that they would do so by explaining its origins. The narrative in the film would have the unknowing think letter cars are just big luxury sleds for driving coast to coast. No sir. They sold Imperials and New Yorkers for that purpose. We know the 300 had in most cases 50% higher spring rates and most of everything else uprated for sport driving purposes. The 300 was not built to slither the Eisenhower Interstate system though it would do that better than any other car. I wish he had started with Chrysler Hemi Head OHV engine development, Rodger’s idea to build a special car for it, Cunningham’s adoption thereof, Kiekhaefer, Granatelli and the whole shebang. He might have read the most recent issue of Collectible Automobile. But you wouldn’t know by all he said. That is why I like to have 300 people such as you all around at car shows. We need to remind the auto world that it was Chrysler and its letter cars that begot hot rods from the factory and gave rise to the Muscle Car.
