I've never owned an enclosed trailer but have been around them with smaller cars than the 300F. Getting in and out of the car is always the challenge. I'd want a side door where you can get out of the car. I've seen them where the side opens up over the wheels so you can get the car door fully open. Of course it depends on the size of the trailer and where the car ends up.
I recently got my first car trailer after decades of borrowing them or renting them. I got a 20foot deck rollback as I needed to make sure my 300F fit comfortably on it and was easy to tie down. I went with e-track after looking at all the other alternatives, mostly because of the flexibility of the attachments that could be used on it and the fact that there is more surface under the tires. I also considered the airline type aluminum track that Randy is using and it is a good alternative and stronger in some applications. I actually spent more time researching tie-down methods and strap companies than I did the trailer itself. I've had problems with these big cars and using cross straps on d-rings. I went with Mac's Straps for the quality of their straps and hardware, especially the ratchet mechanisms. I went with the tire block straps over basket straps as I was worried about damaging the whitewalls. I also have chocks that fit into the e-track at the front of the car. I still secured the front of the car with a strap around the crossmember connected to the d-rings. I've since replaced the strap I used taking the car to the meet with one from Mac's that has snap hooks and their ratchet mechanism.
And yes, the length measurement should be the total including the bumpers. I've had my '60 Imperial on this same trailer and it definitely fills it up. In these pictures you can see my Imperial on the trailer I borrowed to bring it home. Fortunately I didn't have to go far.

I am considering purchasing an enclosed trailer for my 300F and possible new 300 addition. Online searches list 300-F at 219.20 inches. Other car is 220.2. So this comes out to around 18' 4.2" max length.
I want to make sure I get a long enough trailer and my F is torn apart so I can't check. I assume these measurements are tip of bumper to tip of bumper but you know what they say about assuming anything. So are these measurements tip to tip? max length?
Any other recommendations on features? I am absolutely going to get an "escape door". Trailer I'm considering is 24' interior. Which leaves around 5' 8" of room. Not worried about lashing down the back end. wondering if this is enough to crawl under and lash down front left tire. Any words of wisdom from 300 members with enclosed trailer appreciated.
