Thanks for all the pointers. I wound up making the PVC tool and stacked the washers to adjust when the shaft came up. Thank you for all the help. The steering box is in, and the snap ring is installed.

There is a snap ring that goes on top of that washer. You have to pull up the shaft against the spring pressure to install the snap ring. It's not an
easy task.

Hi all. Im having a hard time installing the steering column in my 300g. I have the box in the wedge adjusted and the coupling all together.
I have the snap ring spring washer and cone washer on the column. The part that is tripping me up is the top of the column where the wheel attaches. I can’t get it snug, the shaft moves side to side. It was like this before I took it apart too. I think
I’m missing a part. The pics of what I have are below. Any thoughts? Thanks mike
