Great shots. Looks like mechanical damage, possibly after a previous repair job. I'd like to add my experience that includes board "failure" by one of the pins coming slightly loose from the board. The pins are hollow brass with a shoulder that sits down on the copper plating of the board. The hollow pin is held tightly to the copper top side by being flared on the bottom side. After too many wiggles of the pin, the flaring loses its grip and allows the electrical connection to "fail"--often periodically at first. Use a low-angle tapered punch/tool to tighten the flare by tapping it with the board properly supported and the pin supported carefully from vertical motion. Good idea to do this to all the pins when you have the instrument panel out. Scotch-briting the pins and other connection points on the cards before tightening would be prudent. Happy New Year and may all your connections be tight. I did pull the instrument cluster and replaced both the fuel and temp gauges, then reinstalled and still nothing. Checked continuity along circuit card trace from 12V in and it was open/flaky. Pulled card and took picture of damage. Guess the trace burnt at some point in the past? -- For archives go to http://www.forwardlook.net/300-archive/search.htm#querylang --- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Chrysler 300 Club International" group.
