Agree with Jay- Super nice looking E!  Not to assume something basic, but is your switch housing supposed to ground where you now have dash paint?  Did you jumper the switch housing to ground and test it for operation?

My restoration of the 300E in Canada is very near complete. We're down to the nitty gritty of electrical testing, engine start-up, etc. Seems, though, that the glove compartment light switch is (unexpectedly) non-operable, so I'm looking for a working example. It looks like the attached photos. Any help sourcing one would be appreciated.
