Re: {Chrysler 300} 300B oil filter cannister

canister possibly deforms under high oil pressure on very cold day , or overtightening  that   nut — why it loses crush force imho . Maybe a thicker washer or two works .. but :
Ask me how I know . .. here is how :
when young, I   listened to “expert” mopar mechanic  ( experts rarely are ) i shimmed oil pump relief valve spring with one washer (that  raises oil pressure , dontcha know).
Brand new rebuild , started right up , it bent oil pressure gauge , no mufflers yet, so very loud , in dark at night , I did not see that oil pressure lifted canister up  off base blew out gasket — all the oil ran out in 20 seconds . Thought it blew bearings .. but engine later went 300 k .
I tried to put canister back on after pulling engine to remove the washer ( nice thing to have to do ,all  due to BS ) it was deformed upwards  would not seal . ? Over tightening the  nut could do same thing ? . Get HH adapter get rid if it and huge mess it causes .
That said,  if put on right , correct torque they are ok stock , but why suffer.Note “ correct torque”
I later  asked him if he ever actually did put that washer in? He says no .

They sell a copper washer kit at believe it or not harbor freight.  It's a assortment of crush brass washers. I still would do the spin on.  After fighting that cannister for hours and you can't even see it.  Frustrating.

My friend with a B has a leaking Crush nut on his oil filter canister and is inclined to use a spin on adapter. I don't like those. What say you folks on the best way to solve his leak?
