I had forgotten there was a neutral safety switch in the circuit; that put an idea in my head.
A minute of background- We have a small garage with a lawn mower Bay Area attached to one end, an open carport on the other end, and an open carport along the front that Kya and I built. All of the attached areas have a gravel floor. Recently we had to kick out a groundhog that had made a burrow in the lawn mower bay. We have seen the groundhog hanging around the carport area (not far from Kya’s garden).
The evidence points to the groundhog. I found some chewed wires and a bent transmission dipstick. In fact on one car it also chewed some spark plug wires.
These wires were not like this when I was originally troubleshooting, so this is an ongoing active crime scene.
I know it sounds crazy but apparently groundhogs do this sometimes. We haven’t had an issue with any other critters doing this before now. We have some wires to replace… and a groundhog to get rid of... 😵💫

All 3 not a clue.
I would suspect the neutral safety switch or circuit.
It provides a ground for starter when car is in
Park or neutral.
