Hi, Randy: Below is some data on D engine S/N vs. VIN I assembled from INC data some time back. I’d guess the last four digits of the S/N of the original engine were about 1760. It looks like there was some effort to install the latest engine in the latest chassis. And, that some 50-60 spare/replacement engines were manufactured. You can add this data to other responses to your query. I trust the data will be somewhat consistent. Excursions from a trend line are to be expected.
