{Chrysler 300} front door weatherstrip 64 K

Yet another obscure question. At the top of the front door weatherstrip where it meets the roof rail, was this originally formed to fit the front portion as the original picture indicates, or was this a crush fit that collapsed to fit over time?

I ask in that if it was a molded end, it would be easier to cut and form before it gets glued down methinks.

Any advice?
