Re: {Chrysler 300} roof pillar badges 300L

John,
Thanks for posting the entire listing of this car. This is almost an exact clone of the hardtop automatic 300L I have, but this one seems to be in nicer shape. Mine was driven by dad in his last few years before he passed on. He and his best friend (his dog Yeller) made it their daily driver so it deteriorated quite a bit. But, he enjoyed the hell out of it which he rightly deserved.

I really do think that my all original and untouched Royal Blue / white vinyl top 4 speed 300L hardtop does have evidence of the red paint in the top body line trim though. I will try to add a picture of that on my car later.

Also, the chrome smoothies remind me of dad's 65 Newport he had back in the 80s that was also a Pearl White with Gold micro-flake in the clear coat making it sparkle down the road. A typical 80s eye catcher that I really loved while I was growing up.

Yes, this car has too much red added to it, and the badging is excessive. I would still love to own it. The de-badging and toning down of the red highlights is a fairly easy task. It's too bad I am putting my first of 3 girls through college right now or I would contact the seller and try to work out a deal. Given the 80s styling that I grew up with and drove daily in the early 90s....I think the car is not bad at all and pretty much ready for some more frequent driving and some local car shows!!

The eBay listing for this car. I could be wrong here, but judging by the pictures, the roof badges don't look thick enough to be the real cloisonné  badges. I think they are vinyl. They'd look better if they were positioned a little more forward.

The hose from the valve cover breather to the air cleaner makes me wonder if this was originally sold new in California.

I received the message below from a non member in Indiana.

He says he has seen 2 other Ls with these badges.

To me the badges and the excess red trim says a previous

owner applied creative license, but I could be wrong.

Has anyone seen this before?

I just purchased a 65 300L and was trying to find out what the option package was for this model I have that has trim different than most all I see.
I have seen two others online with this trim, but find no information on what it is. The things I notice are the 300L emblem on the C pillar, plus the red having been added to much of the trim all around. Maybe you know or can help?

See the photos . Thanks so much for your help!
