Another thought for your consideration to refinish your "G" grille.
John Begian had his "G" grille powdercoated in a flat black finish 13+ years ago when restoring his black G convertible - 2 photos attached from our Spring '23 Hershey Meet. Following John's lead, I also had my F grille beadblasted and then powdercoated in January '22 when I was freshening my engine bay. I chose semigloss black for my grille - 2 photos attached. I know it's not factory correct, but my F is just a driver that has no Concours aspirations. Driving our cars as far as we do, the powdercoating holds up terrific - much bettaer than conventional paint that requires constant paint chip touch-ups that look worse as the the numbers of driving seasons accumulate.
