could do star rating like amazon — voluntary with details : price right out front for various services . that is the real issue , you never know if ripped off or not on specialist stuff . I have seen price vary by 400% for same job and almost inverse relationship to quality . the best guy in every sense wins our business . Great impact in a good direction for all concerned . One guy quoted me 1500 to do wood grain paint on packard trim around 4 windows (!!) auugh …. but for sure gorgeous work . Bit bullet , sent to him . Had to make special crates etc. When delivery came he wanted 3000 , he has my stuff , says “ It was hard to do” lots of mumbles about intricacy of grain . right . Why not just add them to the list of available services on the website? Strikes me that we should have as many sources available as possible. If anyone has a bad experience, they ca publish that here to advise of the problem but I, for one, would like having as many possible sources as possible. Jusy my 2 cents worth.

I was thinking about storing these emails for future reference (very helpful) but is there not a place on our site to capture vendors and recommendations like these? Would be helpful to all and essential to new members. Sent from my iPhone On Jan 19, 2024, at 3:26 PM, Hank Hallowell <Hank@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx> wrote:
I’ve used LiBrandi’s in Harrisburg Pennsylvania as had the Museum for all of our work which includes polishing stainless trim. Incredible results….they currently have several of my H parts including the majority of its stainless. On Jan 19, 2024, at 5:21 PM, Frank & Cathy Messina <hemicuda472@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> wrote:
Hi Bob, Sherm's plating in Sacramento is the best. They don't loose parts or destroy pot metal. I owned a plating shop and it takes a high skill level to get a good finish on pot metal. Good luck.
