He told me people were offering him $2000. Just for the side emblems.  I stopped reading his text after that.  I am restoring a E right now that is complete and can have my own parts restored for cheaper than what he's asking for in used parts

It is because nobody will buy it. There aren’t exactly a lot of 59s being restored right now in need of these parts. He would happily sell them if there were legitimate buyers around.
