Our neighbor bought a nice ultra sonic cleaner. He cleaned some chrome plated castings for me, the results were fantastic. Tiny stars were almost invisible even rust on mounting studs, totally gone. I now own a small version of the same. Rick

Subject: Re: {Chrysler 300} Ultrasonic CleanersJames,--
Does your method with vinegar in the ultrasonic cleaner loosen up frozen throttle shafts and seized screws? I've tried weeks of soaking in WD40, Kroil and 50/50 acetone/ATF to no avail.
Presently, Harbor Freight has such a cleaner with a 11" x 5.75" x 5.75" reservoir with good reviews.

I still manually remove all the caked-on crud beforehand, and spray & blow all orifices with carb cleaner afterward. I use cheap cleaning vinager as an agent. I have soaked completely rusted up metal pieces in the vinegar bath for a few days, then run the machine for a couple of cycles to have the parts come out with clean metal. Get a machine with as big a vat as you can. If you're doing old style pot metal carbs with the bronze coating such as a Stromberg 97, don't let them in there too long, or use a milder cleaning agent.

Im looking at purchasing an ultrasonic cleaner. Does any have experience with them? I recently acquired a 300 J that has been sitting for about 11 years. I was thinking of taking an initial pass of cleaning the 3505 carbs with an ultrasonic cleaner.
Does anyone have experience with using them to clean carbs?
ThanksJeff Eastwood--
