{Chrysler 300} 1962 Astradome Install

I am going to rechrome the dash pieces.

Including of the chrome support that contains all switches & supports the instrument gauges.

I am only used to removing & installing the entire cluster with that chrome support installed.

Can the cluster be installed without it; to a certain extent?

I imagine it will be easier NOT having to “squeeze” the actual dome lens in place without the chrome support installed?

I suspect I may have to hold the lens in place while setting the chrome support in place & screwing it in?

Any thoughts are appreciated.
