Hi Drew,

 

Did your speedo start acting up last year with a bouncong needle?

• Start with checking the speedo cable, to see if it's intact, or may have snapped due to not being lubed.
• Check your plastic speedo gear - in the trans - as that may have broken.

Hoping it's not your speedo head - would need to pull it and send to Jeff Carter at JC Auto for rebuild, if this is the culprit.

Thank you all for your suggestions on paint and body. This car has been full of minor gremlins since I became the care taker. I got the o ring replaced on the filler tube of the transmission which fixed that issue, I now replaced all front wheel cylinders to solve that issue, I could not find rears so I honed them and replaced the cups. Thought I was finally getting some where with it and now the speedometer has quit. I hate to drive it with out the odometer working since it is so original and the odometer is accurate right now. Can anyone give me any advice where to start looking for the issue. I hope its not too big of a thing it seems none of the cars are cooperating well for me this year.
