Thanks all, Bob, the one half would not clear at the bottom hose. But that half is the one with the studs in it. It would have made more sense to have the one with the studs on the side be on the bottom and then the top one just dropped over it. But
like I said, it would not fit the lower hose area. That is why I wanted confirmation on that to make sure that there is not a radiator shop mess up. My mounts look surprisingly good. The fan was missing when I got the car, it had a non-AC fan on it. It is possible that the fan I got from eBay or Murray is not correct but I though it came off a ’64. The other thing I thought of was to pull the bolts on the radiator and drill the holes up a size or two and then use a washer with the bolts thus allowing the radiator to slide down a little to get a little more clearance. I am driving it from San Francisco this morning to San Carlos to have them test and fill the A/C. We shall see if I hear a nasty noise or not ! James From: Bob Merritt <bob@xxxxxxxxxxxxx>
The top half has an obvious provision for the radiator hose. I did this install last week, install the bottom half by rotating along the edge of the fan........unless your rad outlet has been modified, you should not have to take the fan off.
