Re: {Chrysler 300} Re: 1964 console transmission cable repro source

agree , i have used control cables for years , even if you draw something they can make it . catalog is great , lots of inspiration .
first class materials .
another view , most of the time the old cable is fine , clean thoroughly hang vertically , run synthetic 75 w down it for  a week . Better than new , can add shrink sleeve too .
300F hood cables are a joke the wire is too thin and breaks at the T and at the clamp under hood
I found out a  “ universal choke cable “ made in two lengths , you will need the longer 6 foot one , is a perfect upgrade ; thicker wire and new spiral  too , drill into end  of tee after cutting off crimped part , solder .
will never break again

The process of buying my ram 300K parts bit by bit continues. I got the original engine back last month and today picked up the ram setup. Next week I'll be picking up the 1965 transmission he rebuilt for the car along with the new shifter cables he had made. I don't know if anyone got in touch with the company he had them made at to get a set but I'll have them available if they need them to do more.

Here's a Facebook posting by a Lee Meyer, K Ram owner, that may be of interest -

I recently was dreading getting transmission cables replaced or rebuilt for my 300 Ram K. I am pretty tired of the small amount of vendors that sell or rebuild parts for these old mopars, because of costs, poor quality, waiting years for things etc. So, a friend of mine who is a race car guy recommended this company in Santa Fe Springs CA that make control cables for race cars, boats and whatever. I sent them my shifter and park cables and the guy says no sweat. ONE WEEK later i had my new cables and they are spot on perfect better than factory by a mile. Pretty much an impossible feat for these chryslers. So, tell the other guys (you all know who they are) to pack sand and call these dudes. Control Cables Inc 562-949-0455 www.controlcables.com
