Danny: A T-10 will "wilt" under the torque from a cross ram 413. It had the same problems with the Ford 427 and Chevrolet 409. That is why the big 3 all developed their own 4-speed gearboxes.

My hunch is the A745 was built for use behind V8 engines, likely in trucks where 1st gear synchro is not necessary.
