I used my local NAPA for the spark plug wires. They turned out over time to be junk. I had boots pull off and leave the tips on the plug. I had housings that split within a year, just junk and these were NAPA’s “lifetime” wires.

 

On my 1940’s flathead Desoto’s I have been using Taylor Wires. One set on the old daily driver, the 1947 Desoto, have logged over 15 years of service and when I checked them recently with my Fluke VOM they were still fine.

 

I put a set on the 300K last week and the car starts better and runs better. 

 

If you have a car in need of a tune up and are not concerned with stock style wire, I recommend trying a set of their wires. You can also take a rag with some lacquer thinner and wipe all the white printing off the Taylo wires, so they just look black.

 

Now the only thing I need are some of those nylon wire holders that press into the valve covers. I got some decades ago, but I do not remember from where I got them. Does QQD or someone else have them?
