Hi Steve,

 

Let me know what input you receive from George. Before our late friend and Club member, Mick Maxwell, passed away in Summer 2023, he was in regular communication with George, and updating me on what George was able to begin reproducing again.

 

A couple other possibilities, if George is a dead end -

• Mark II Enterprises in Apple Valley, CA - www.markii.com - focuses on a huge variety of several decades of Ford Motor cars. They've also repopped front parking light lenses for '61/'62 Chryslers (incl.'61 DeSotos), along with '62 Chrysler taillight lenses, that we know didn't weather well. I've spoken with the owner a couple times over the past 5 years, and he's open to creating molds and reproducing other lenses, etc. if we commit to a certain number. Check out Mark II's catalog, and you'll see the '62 tailight lenses selling for $179 each, plus the mounting seals for $20/pair.
• Anders Andersson, in Lidkoping Sweden, had a large display of lenses of lenses he had reproduced, when I visited with him at the July 2019 Power Big Meet there, When I had last communicated with Anders, maybe a year ago, I asked him about the '61 taillight lenses. He responded that he had been very busy with his other work obligations, that his '61 molds were no longer serviceable, and that he didn't have time to commit to reproduce these again. Anders, a former 300 Club member, is on Facebook, and can be contacted there. I've attached a photo of his product from his 2019 vendor display.

I will check with George then.  Out West at least, those factory lenses tended to fade quite badly over a relatively short period of time so if George would be able to provide him with one then it might not match the other factory one very well.  Nonetheless, if your contact wants only one side, which one does he want?

    Thanks for the reply,  I just happend to run across someone who needed a G tail light lens, and thought of George, whch prompted me to inquire as to his status.  I purchased some lenses from him many years ago

I am in regular contact with George since he is doing a special project for folks on the For C Bodies Only forum that I am spearheading.  I talked with George about your request Pete and he asked me what specifically you were looking for since if it is something he has already developed a mold for he might indeed be able to furnish lenses accordingly in a reasonable timeframe.  So let me know just what lenses you are specifically looking for and he can provide me with his response that I can post on this site or just to you directly if you prefer.  

 

Despite his stroke, he has overcome some extremely difficult realities but he has not given up and continues to push ahead.
