It is weird. The picture in the shop manual shows the slot connected to the Rear Carb. The description in the same shop manual describes the slot connected to the Front Carb…. L Carburetor Inter-Connecting Rod (C-300H only) Install the inter-connecting rod with the slotted end connected at the lower hole in the throttle lever of the front carburetor, and the other end connected at the top hole of the rear carburetor throttle lever. I f an adjustment is necessary, hold the rear carburetor throttle lever In wide open position (choke off) and adjust the rod at the slotted end so that front carburetor throttle valves will also be in the wide open position. Tighten the locknut and check the operation of the linkage. (Be sure that the inter-connector rod can rotate slightly on the pivots, and do not bind in any throttle position. I have seen the slot on the rear carb on an H once. I had the slot connected to the rear carb on my Sport….which is why it maybe didn’t work right! Matt Allyn
