Re: {Chrysler 300} 300H Carburetor Linkage Question

It is weird.
The picture in the shop manual shows the slot connected to the Rear Carb.
The description in the same shop manual describes the slot connected to the Front Carb….

L Carburetor Inter-Connecting Rod (C-300H only)

Install the inter-connecting rod with the slotted

end connected at the lower hole in the throttle lever

of the front carburetor, and the other end connected

at the top hole of the rear carburetor throttle lever.

I f an adjustment is necessary, hold the rear carburetor throttle lever In wide open position (choke

off) and adjust the rod at the slotted end so that

front carburetor throttle valves will also be in

the wide open position. Tighten the locknut and

check the operation of the linkage. (Be sure that

the inter-connector rod can rotate slightly on the

pivots, and do not bind in any throttle position.

I have seen the slot on the rear carb on an H once.
I had the slot connected to the rear carb on my Sport….which is why it maybe didn’t work right!

I have a question concerning the orientation of the throttle linkage rod connecting the in-line carburetors on the 300H.  I've attached a picture from the 62 FSM with the slotted portion of the rod on the rear carburetor.  Is this correct?  I've studied this diagram and it appears backwards?  I've looked at photos online and there are several examples showing the slotted portion of the rod on the front carburetor as well as how it is depicted in the FSM diagram.  Forums are also mixed in terms of the correct orientation - he's an example:

https://www.forbbodiesonly.com/moparforum/threads/a-closer-look-at-the-carb-setup-with-questions.240770/

I know the FSM is considered "gospel" but I have encountered instances where diagrams are either incorrect or lacking sufficient details.

I just want it to be correct and carburetors to function properly.

Thanks in advance!
