Hi all,
Soon enough work is getting done on the interior that I will have some space back here in my little garage in San Francisco. I will then start to tear down that spare transmission I picked up.
One issue is the valve body. Does anyone know a definitive way to ID the differences between the console shift and the column shift on these transmissions?
I have found that they used the flanged, rear pump transmission into 1965 then they did a running change. This trans is vary late close to the changeover point.
The valve body may well have been changed at some point as this spare trans has obviously been rebuilt one and the cast painted black. It may have been raced for all I know. When torn down it will become apparent.
The main trans will get as many new parts as I can get, the valve body is what I need to nail down.
Thanks, James
