Should be TDC on the compression stroke. Bill HuffOn 7/31/2025 2:42 PM, 'Jay Williamson' via Chrysler 300 Club International wrote:
Well, that didn’t work. Grrr I put my timing at top dead center so I could look at the rotor and see where cylinder #1 is. From that, I placed plug wires popped off #1. Going on the rotor turning counter clockwise, I placed plug wires #8 to the right of #1. Then followed the rest of the order according to the manual. The only difference is that I have a NOS cap on. What could I have wrong here. I am pointing to where I placed #1 wire. Sounds dumb but thinking wrongly in head on that aspect really fouled me up one time , had firing order on scrap of paper but put wrong way on the circle Now I look at vacuum can angle it advances spark so it pulls the pick up or point action in the direction opposite to rotation to make it happen sooner ,,that tells you which way cap around firing order is jgOn Jul 31, 2025, at 12:57 PM, 'Jay Williamson' via Chrysler 300 Club International <chrysler-300-club-international@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx> wrote: That makes sense. I was replacing the cap and a couple of wires popped off. Now I’m not sure I have them in the right place. I have referred to the shop manual, but it looks like the cylinder order might be wrong on the diagram? I always thought that from front to back drivers side it was 2,4,6,8 and on the pass side it was 1,3,5,7. Also, this diagram shows the primary wire on the back side of the distributor and mine is attached in the front? Cap goes on just one way Thanks for your help -- For archives go to http://www.forwardlook.net/300-archive/search.htm#querylang --- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Chrysler 300 Club International" group.
