I am ready to install the rocker trim on the 1970 300 convertible.
After replacing sheet metal, some of the little flat headed rivets that
the plastic trim mounts clip onto are no longer there. I am considering
pop riveting the plastic pieces onto the body.
The metal has been repainted and the metal treated inside and sealed up,
so I would rather not try to weld new mounts to the car. My big question
is what method to use to rust proof the rivet holes? I will use
aluminum rivets. RTV crossed my mind, but not sure of the longevity.
