RE: {Chrysler 300} 1955 Chrysler C-300 Convertible on eBay

John,

There was a ’56 300 B convertible that was shown at the Ironstone Concours in Murphy CA, gold country a while back.  It was red, based on a New Yorker convert,  and the plate read “Fantom B”.  I believe I have a photo of it, and will post when I find it.  It was nicely done and won an award.

Much like the modern variant from this century, I wish Chrysler had  made factory convertibles of all years.  I  have thought about a 56 convertible 300B creation for years, right down to the vanity license plate, which would be "Wannabe"  or "WannaB".

If Chrysler had made a two door convertible 300 SRT8 some 20 years ago, there would be one in my stable today.  Instead I wound up making a 5.7 300 Wagon out of a Magnum R/T,  as that required relatively simple swapping of the nose as opposed to chopping of a top off a coupe.

There's a fanny for every seat.  No harm done as long as the vehicle in question is honestly represented for what it is.

Please forgive me if this has already been a topic of discussion,  but has anyone noted this 55 300, serial number 3N551199, listed under this link: https://ebay.us/m/Sx4gI8?

It appears that factory parts were used to make this a convertible.  Does anyone have any background on this car?

Thanks,
