Does anyone have an original starter shield laying about, who could measure the thickness of yours?

The one that came out of my K was home made and cobbled, and is .030 thick.

A new shield that I bought from Mancini, stating online that it should fit all large blocks with a 727 is .060 thick. The label now states this one is for 1968-1974 big and small blocks.

I installed the engine and trans not realizing that this shield has to slip in between the block and the trans case. The .060 is not sliding in.

So if the is .060 correct, I will have to split them slightly to get 'er in.

Many thanks!
