| I love my car, yet sometimes not so much. I need diagnosis thoughts on why my Turn Indicator Switch may be breaking its little cancel finger over & over. I had torn apart everything to rebuild the Steering Box. I followed the shop manual instructions, step-by-step, in order to: - Re-mount the rebuilt Steering Box & have its Steering Gear Arm centered (so the steering wheel would be centered, once mounted - and thank you Bob Merritt for the video you made on the removal & installation of the steering box!) - Re-install the Inner Steering Shaft, after polishing the horn contact ring and making sure the shaft was positioned correctly to align with the Cancellation Switch - Re-install the Outer Steering Column Jacket, confirming the Cancellation Switch column holes align with the Inner Shaft Horn Ring & Hard Plastic items that click the Cancel Switch Finger - Made sure the Outer Steering Column Jacket is properly seated down into the Steering Box So…. - All was reassembled by the shop manual specifications. - I was very slow & methodical to make sure I redid all of the horn grounding goods, lubed the Outer Steering Column Jacket upper bearing, etc. Now… - During this job I also replaced the Center Link - Once I installed the Steering Wheel, it was not entirely centered, so I moved to adjust the Tie Rods. - I can get adjustment out of the Drivers Tie Rods. I cannot get adjustment out of the Passenger Tie Rods. - I suspect the Passenger Inner Tie Rod is not threaded to work with the Tie Rod Adjusting Sleeve (I think it may be a Drivers side Inner Tie Rod, living on the Passenger Side. I think I will be replacing my Tie Rods as they are all worn anyways. Then I can get them to adjust to the Toe specs and maybe that will allow the Steering Wheel to center properly) - I can look through the Outer Column Holes & see the alignment of the Horn Ring & the Hard Plastic Cancel Items. MAYBE… - Since the Steering Wheel is off center (to the left) this is breaking the Cancelation Switch Finger? All thoughts are welcomed!! Thanks!
