i am sorry for filling your mailing list with stupid questions/comments.
is some blowby tolerable? i think the oil smells a little like fuel, gonna
get a second opinion when i can, if it does its not real bad, i been changin it
real often. its not really blowin that bad, enough where i cant use pcv. i
dont have the openings in the valve covers plugged or anything and its not
blowing oil just vapor. should i just be patient and keep running it? thinking
maybe they will work themselves into sealing better. or should i change rings? i
have heard that hotrodders screw up motors by not leaving them alone and
letting them wear themselves in. i dont want to mess with this thing too much. am
not bragging and probly not that impressive to you all but this motor turned out
awesome as far as top end goes, spreadbores on rpm manifold opens up big
time.
i got all clearances set out to drag. does a .0025 (i think, cant find
paper) wall clearance make for loose rings? do race engines blow like this or do
your rings seal up good?
i wish i could find the paper that came with the pistons kb215s on 400 rods
the deck was squared he had to take .0012 off it (am i putting too many zeros
behind decimal point?) i was thinking before it started blowing (probly three
weeks after i started running it) he hit the cr just right cause it dont
detonate wide open on a hill even on 93 i got it to pop a little on 87 once.
i will probly pull the heads and if leakdown shows its leaking bad change the
rings. very much dont want to mess with bottom end but if i gotta i gotta.
