Unless we are talking about an engine that has started to be reassembled, I
do not like to seal them up, have found that dust or dirt causes less problems
than trapped moisture, ...............after dissasemblly, I like to w ipe all
machined surfaces with a coat of axle grease, I also like to store the crank
in its original position(inside the main caps) then store the block upside
down, covering with an old sheet or what ever, not plastic.
