I would try to get all the old gas out that I could by syponing,. add a
couple of gallons of fresh gas to the tank, shake the car as violently as I could,
re syphon, add gas again, install one or even two inline filters between the
tank and the fuel pump, and start engine, after running for a while replace
the filters,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,filters and a few gallons of gas wasted are
cheap compared to breaking something removing the gas tank, or plugging up the
carb.
