OK guys, looking for ideas, sorry tho its about my 71 charger.
I want to get rid of the ugly dark fake wood dash and console panels
that mopar seemed obsessed with in the era. UGLY!
so my idea is to completely fill the embossed wood grain with
something, and then create a nice faux finish wood effect. Maybe birds
eye maple. I will do it with paint, part of what i do for a living as
a painter.
I liked the beautiful dashes in the old Jaguars( sorry guys) and even
my 70 Olds 442 had a decent artificial woodgrain dash to it ( sorry
again guys but it was a sweet car nonetheless).
So what could i used to fill the plastic woodgrain to yield a smooth
surface and then apply my faux birds eye maple ?
Any ideas? I know it couldnt be something hot as i am afraid it
might melt the
dash.
