keep your vacuum advance distributor. i have 2 cars both with modifief  440 
6-paks and use vacuum advances. i used to be of the mind set that all  
performance engines must run full centrifugal distributors, but that assumption  is 
not always based on fact or need. most hot cammed low vacuum engines  can't use 
a vacuum advance but moderately modified or stock engines will work  quit 
nicely with them.
